Daniele honed his craft under the guidance of Maestro Andrea Dieci, completing his Master’s Degree at Modena’s Conservatory with the highest honours - 110 cum Laude and Special Mention. Further studies at the School of Early Music in Venice and Giulio Regondi’s Academy in Milan shaped his artistic focus, grounding him in the rich heritage of classical and early music traditions. Using fiddle, drones and voice, the pair build vibrant musical landscapes, weaving together melodic lines inspired and improvised from traditional songs and dance music. Helen Gentile & Lewis Wood (Threepenny Bit and Granny’s Attic respectively), perform an evocative set of tunes from the balfolk canon on clarinet and fiddle. The duo combines the talent of two musicians who are firmly embedded into the folk music community in England. Their material comprises traditional, contemporary and original European folk dance music, with loose, ever-evolving arrangements creating space for improvisation and showcasing the interplay between the instruments.
