The original Andover Choral Society was formed in 1866 to perform Handel's Messiah, accompanied by piano and harmonium. The present Andover Choral Society was inaugurated in 1971 and members are joined by soloists and musicians of the highest calibre, and the choral concerts presented are some of the musical highlights of the artistic year. The society rehearses on Wednesday evenings in the Bridge Street Methodist Church, directed by conductor Peter Ford.
